SkamoWall Bore

SkamoWall Bore is a bore used at the sides and top of windows.

Like SkamoWall Board and SkamoWall Wedge, SkamoWall Bore is made of calcium silicate, which ensures an improved indoor climate.

All SkamoWall calcium silicate products have an EPD (Environment Product Declaration), which has been verified by a third party and published through EPD Denmark.

Remove loose plaster, tar, paint residue and organic materials. In case of mould growth, clean the wall with a biocide product.
Ensure that the wall is level. Multiple layers of Skamol Lime Mortar can be applied in thicknesses of 10mm to even out the wall surface. Allow each layer to harden before applying a new layer of adhesive.
Use water or Skamol Primer to ensure that the wall surface is free of dust.
If necessary, saw SkamoWall Bore to the correct size with a standard handsaw.
Remove dust from the surface of SkamoWall Bore.
Apply primer Skamol Primer to the surface of the side of SkamoWall Bore facing the wall. There is no difference in the function of the two sides of the SkamoWall Bore, so it does not matter which side of the SkamoWall Bore is mounted facing the room.
Wait approx. 30 minutes for Skamol Primer to dry.
Apply Skamol Lime Mortar to the wall in an even layer with an 8mm notched trowel. Apply Skamol Lime Mortar to the surface of the side of SkamoWall Bore facing the wall in an even layer with an 8mm notched trowel. The total layer of Skamol Lime Mortar should be 4mm to 10mm.
Place SkamoWall Bore approx. 5cm from the desired location.
Immediately push the SkamoWall Bore into place to level the Skamol Lime Mortar. SkamoWall Bore must be fully bonded with Skamol Lime Mortar, leaving a 5mm gap between the SkamoWall Bore and the window sill. The gap can be filled with an inorganic elastic material such as self-adhesive foam or silicone.
Remove dust from the surface of the mounted SkamoWall Bore.
Apply Skamol Primer to the surface of the mounted SkamoWall Bore.
Wait approx. 30 minutes for Skamol Primer to dry.
Fill joints between SkamoWall Bore with plaster and then apply plaster to SkamoWall Bore. Choose between Skamol Lime Mortar and Skamol Smooth Plaster.
Once the plaster has hardened, the mounting of SkamoWall Bore is complete.

Skamol Lime Mortar

Skamol Lime Mortar is a lime-based ready-to-use product that can be used as both an adhesive and plaster when mounting SkamoWall. Mix a 20kg bag with approx. 4.5L of clean water for about 7 minutes, yielding 2.5m² as an adhesive (7mm) or 7m² as plaster (2mm). The work must be carried out within a temperature range of +5°C to +25°C. Use clean tools and make sure that the surface of the substrate is free of dust before applying the product. Store the product in its original packaging in a dry and dark place. Protect against moisture and negative temperatures.

Skamol Mesh

Skamol Mesh is a reinforcing mesh used only when mounting SkamoWall in buildings exposed to many major vibrations such as railroad tracks.

Skamol Primer

Skamol Primer is a ready-to-use primer that is applied to SkamoWall Board on the side to which the plaster is to be applied. Skamol Primer is a water-soluble primer made from colloidal silica. Skamol Primer improves adhesion and thus forms a good foundation for subsequent treatment. It should not be used if the temperature is below 5°C. Store the product in its original, unopened packaging in a cool, but frostproof place. It can be used for 24 months from the date of manufacture indicated on the packaging. The product is ready for use. 1L is sufficient for 5m². Drying time is approximately 30 minutes.

Skamol Smooth Plaster

Skamol Smooth Plaster is a ready-to-use smooth plaster to be used together with the calcium silicate SkamoWall Board. A 15kg bag must be mixed with approximately 5.5L to 6.5L of water, yielding around 7.5m² with a thickness of 2mm. Use clean tools and make sure that the surface of the substrate is primed and free of dust before applying the plaster. The work must be carried out within a temperature range of +5°C to +25°C. Store the product in the original packaging in a dry and dark place. Protect against moisture and negative temperatures.

SkamoWall Wedge

SkamoWall Wedge is a wedge used as a border between the wall and ceiling. Similar to SkamoWall Board and SkamoWall Bore, SkamoWall Wedge is made of calcium silicate, which ensures an improved indoor climate. All SkamoWall calcium silicate products have an EPD (Environment Product Declaration), which has been verified by a third party and published through EPD Denmark.
