Kalicium Silicate Boards

Calcium silicate board SkamoWall Board

A calcium silicate board is made from inorganic minerals and consists of quicklime and microsilica, which is originally a by-product of silicon production.

The calcium silicate SkamoWall Board in SkamoWall is produced from inorganic materials, in which the main component consists of quicklime and microsilica, which is originally a by-product of silicon production.

SkamoWall is diffusion-open

The calcium silicate SkamoWall Board and all associated products are diffusion-open, which means that they can absorb and release moisture.

When the SkamoWall Board comes into contact with moisture, it will absorb it and the moisture will move towards the dry side of the SkamoWall Board. The moisture will then be stored in the panel until the environment allows the panel to release the moisture. A typical example of this is a damp outer wall, where SkamoWall is mounted on the inside. SkamoWall will absorb the moisture, and when airing or ventilating, SkamoWall will release the moisture into the air.

In this way, the calcium silicate board maintains a healthy indoor environment by absorbing moisture in the building’s structure, thereby ensuring that moisture does not provide optimal conditions for mold growth and potential health risks.

SkamoWall eliminates mold

In addition to regulating moisture problems, the calcium silicate SkamoWall Board also has a number of properties that prevent the growth of mold:

  • It is made of inorganic materials, so there are no nutrients for mold to grow.
  • It has a pH value above 10.
  • It raises the surface temperature so no condensation moisture is present.
