What is the difference between SkamoWall Living Smooth Plaster and SkamoWall Living Structural Plaster?

SkamoWall Living Smooth Plaster is a smooth plaster.

SkamoWall Living Structural Plaster coarse-grained plaster (up to 1mm).

What is the grain size of SkamoWall Living Structural Plaster?

The grain size is up to 1mm.

Can electricity be milled into the SkamoWall Living Board?

Yes, you can. Learn more here.

Can I mount SkamoWall Living on a half-timbered house?

Yes you can. However, you must place a bituminous membrane between SkamoWall Living and the truss and then complete the mounting.

Can I mount the SkamoWall Living system on a skeleton wall?

Yes, if the skeleton wall is not made of an organic material.

Can SkamoWall Living be mounted on wood?

SkamoWall Living must not be mounted directly against wood or other organic materials. However, you can place a bituminous membrane between SkamoWall Living and the organic materials and complete the mounting.

What distance should there be between the SkamoWall Living Board and the floor?

We recommend 5mm.

Should I prime SkamoWall Living Board?

Yes, but only the side of the SkamoWall Living Board that will be be plastered must be primed.

Should SkamoWall Living Board be fully glued?

Yes, it must be.

Should SkamoWall Living Board be mounted bonded?

Yes, we recommend it.

Should SkamoWall Living Board be positioned/rotated in a specific way?

No, there are no requirements as to how the board must be positioned/rotated.

Should the wall be completely sanded down?

Paint residues and other organic material must be removed. Unevennesses must not be bigger than 15mm.

Should the wall be completely straight?

With SkamoWall Living Adhesive you can correct up to 15mm of unevennesses.

Should the wall be primed?

No, only the side of the SkamoWall Living Board that will be plastered must be primed.

Should you fill with SkamoWall Living Smooth Plaster one or more times?

It's up to you. Most often, the nicest result is obtained by laying several thin layers on top of each other.

When do you recomment to to use SkamoWall Living Mesh?

SkamoWall Living Mesh should only be used in cases where the walls are exposed to vibrations, e.g. next to train tracks.

Can glass tissue be mounted on SkamoWall Living?

No, we do not recommend it.

Can I paint SkamoWall Living?

Yes you can. A diffusion-open silicate paint must be used that has an SD Value = 0.01.

Can you mount felt on SkamoWall Living?

No, we do not recommend it.

Can you mount wallpaper on SkamoWall Living?

No, we do not recommend it.

Can you mount tiles on SkamoWall Living?

Yes, you can. However, the SkamoWall Living Board will not be able to release moisture into the room.

Can you paint directly on SkamoWall Living Board?

No, you can not. First you must apply SkamoWall Living Smooth Plaster or SkamoWall Living Structural Plaster.

Do you recommend a specific nail?

No, but it must be a stainless steel nail.

Do you recommend a specific paint?

We recommend diffusion-open silicate paint that has an SD Value = 0.01.

Do you recommend a specific screw?

No, but it must be a stainless steel screw.
