Yes.

Can other products be used for mounting SkamoWall?

No.

Can SkamoWall be used in bathrooms?

SkamoWall can be used in bathrooms with the condition that the splashing area is covered with tiles. At least 50cm above or next to the splashing area should be clear of tiles.

Is protective equipment needed when mounting SkamoWall?

No.

There is no special safety equipment required, but it is advised to check the safety datasheet for instructions.

What is the minimum number of products needed for mounting?

Skamol Adhesive and SkamoWall Board.

What are the dimensions of SkamoWall Board?

Standard dimension is 1,000 × 610mm.

Other dimensions available up to 2,440 × 1,220mm.

What are the thicknesses of SkamoWall Board?

Standard thicknesses are 25, 30, 50, and 100mm.

Other thicknesses available ranging from 20 to 105mm.

What insulation value does SkamoWall Board provide in 25mm?

R = 0.37.

U = 2.72.

What insulation value does SkamoWall Board provide in 50mm?

R = 0.74.

U = 1.36.

What insulation value does SkamoWall Board provide in 100mm?

R = 1.47.

U = 0.68.

Plaster information

What is the difference between SkamoWall Basic Smooth Plaster and Skamol Structural Plaster?

SkamoWall Basic Smooth Plaster is a smooth plaster.

Skamol Structural Plaster coarse-grained plaster (up to 2mm).

What is the grain size of Skamol Structural Plaster?

The grain size is up to 2mm.

Mounting information

Can electricity be milled into the SkamoWall Board?

Yes.

Can SkamoWall be mounted on a half-timbered house?

Yes.

However, a bituminous membrane must be placed between SkamoWall and the truss.

Can SkamoWall be mounted on a skeleton wall?

Yes.

However, the skeleton wall must be made of an inorganic material.

Can SkamoWall be mounted on wood?

Yes.

However, a bituminous membrane must be placed between SkamoWall and the wood.

Does Skamol recommend a specific biocide?

No.

How much distance should there be between the SkamoWall Board and the floor?

Either 5mm free space or 5mm with an inorganic elastic material.

Should SkamoWall Board be fully glued?

Yes.

Should SkamoWall Board be mounted bonded?

Yes.

Should SkamoWall Board be primed?

Yes.

Only the side of the SkamoWall Board which will be plastered needs to be primed.

Should SkamoWall Board turn in a specific way?

No.

Should Skamol Smooth Plaster be applied one or more times?

Most often, the best result is obtained by laying several thin layers on top of each other.

Should the back wall be completely sanded down?

Tar, paint residues and other organic material must be removed.

Unevenness must not be greater than 15mm.

Should the back wall be completely straight?

Bumps up to 15mm bumps can be corrected with Skamol Adhesive.

Should the back wall be primed?

No.

When to use the Skamol Mesh reinforcement mesh?

Skamol Mesh should only be used in cases where the walls are exposed to vibrations from e.g. train tracks.

Finishing information

Can felt be mounted on SkamoWall?

No.

Can glass fabric be mounted on SkamoWall?

No.

Can paint be applied directly on SkamoWall Board?

No.

However, if Skamol Smooth Plaster or Skamol Structural Plaster is applied, you can paint.

Can SkamoWall be painted?

Yes.

The combination of DYRUP Silicate Primer V and DYRUP Indoor Silicate Paint is recommended.
